Kidzcare was established in August 2001 by the directors Fraser Quin and Anne-Marie Dunn. Fraser and Anne-Marie, both having children in after school care in Edinburgh, recognised a real need for a comprehensive after school care network in the city. Kidzcare began with one after school club in Morningside and has since expanded to its current network of six after school clubs, two additional support needs clubs and two breakfast clubs in Edinburgh. A similiar requirment for after school care was recognised in the Borders region, and as a result, Kidzcare now also run eight after school clubs in the Borders. 

Kidzcare specialise in providing playschemes  with variety of activities for young people with additional support needs and do this in conjunction with social work and education departments in local authorities within the Lothians.
