What do we ask of you?
We would expect you to ensure that your children arrive on time during holidays, when clubs are open from 8.30am until 5.30pm, and are collected on time, from the club or from an agreed location.
We would ask that you notify your local club manager each day when your child is going to be absent from the club, as this is clearly important from a child safety point of view – both for your child and those children also being collected at, or escorted to, the same school.
In the enrolment process, you will be asked to provide alternative/emergency contact details (a close relative, family friend), who can be contacted regarding the whereabouts of the child should the need arise. These details will be checked periodically to ensure they are up-to-date.
An attendance register will be kept at all times, and parents will be requested to “sign out” their children. A senior staff member will sign in children on arrival from school and also temporarily sign out children in the case of external trips.
From time to time you may be asked to complete authorization forms for your child. Examples of these would be excursion authorization, administration of medicines, permission to take photographs of your child etc. You may also be asked to participate in our annual satisfaction survey. In all cases someone will explain why we are looking for this input or consent. Where appropriate, someone will also explain the consequences if we do not receive this consent e.g. if we are not given permission to administer specific medicine to your child.
Usually, you will find that these procedures are required of us by our regulatory body, the Care Commission. As a company, we will certainly strive to minimize the paperwork for you.
Payment of Bills Most Kidzcare clubs now operate a Standing Order system for payment of all bills. Where this is in place we ask parents to complete a Standing Order form when they enrol their children. Some clubs still operate a cash/cheque system whereby all fees are paid in advance on the due date printed on the monthly invoice. Consistent failure to pay bills on time may result in your child being refused access to the facility.
We do also try to accommodate ad hoc requests wherever possible, although permanent bookings are given priority where places are limited. If you are able to agree an ad hoc arrangement with the Centre Manager, we ask that you provide a minimum of 48 hours notice for your child to attend the club, and that you pay for these sessions as you go along. You will receive an invoice for any ad hoc sessions used at the end of the month, and any outstanding payments will then be requested.
What do we ask of our children?
It is the responsibility of the members to show respect to all other members of the club and staff. Children will be encouraged to help younger children, to share, not to isolate groups or individuals, and to add constructively to the running of the club. Kidzcare want the children to have “ownership” of their club. This includes respect for club equipment. Deliberate damage will be paid for by parents/guardians. Bullying and racism will not be tolerated.
We would expect everyone at the club, including staff and children to adhere strictly to a non-racist, anti bullying, equal opportunity ethos.
Discipline
In order to protect every child at Kidzcare, we cannot allow any form of bullying, racism, or foul language to go un-reprimanded. All Kidzcare staff will endeavour to operate any reprimand system fairly and for the benefit of all concerned.
A minor misdemeanor will be dealth with verbally by the member of staff who has witnessed it and then the club manager if it is repeated. Each child will be warned that the manager will be informed if the misdemeanor is repeated a third time that their parents will be informed on collection. Whenever this happens you should expect to be shown a completed incident form with details of the behaviour and you will be asked to sign it so that we know you have been told about the incident.
Under extreme circumstances, Kidzcare reserve the right to expel persistent and disruptive offenders after discussion with the parent or guardian concerned. Under no circumstances will children be smacked, slapped, shaken, physically or verbally abused. Only positive responses to unruly behaviour will be adopted.
Good behaviour and thoughtfulness towards others will be promoted at all times within the club. The staff team at each club will always seek to reward such behaviour appropriately and creatively in a way that the child involved will appreciate.
